I figured that since I named my journal "Fuzzyred's Marvel Reading Nook", I would make this week's post about Marvel. It is a giant fandom, and I like it a lot, so there will probably be many future Saturday posts about it as well.

I really enjoy reading stories about the Avengers, because there is a lot to explore. Canon gives a lot to work with, as well as leaving a lot of gaps or unsatisfying points that people want to fix. It allows for creative storytelling to take place and results in a great variety of stories to read.

My favourite pairing to read is probably Clint/Coulson, because I enjoy both of those characters a lot. I might also have a small competency kink and both of those guys are badass as f***. I like reading the stories where the author delves further into the many facets of their relationship and shows their growth. They are both far from perfect and it is nice to see where they came from and how they move forward from where they are now.

Do you have a favourite pairing in Marvel? Why do you like that pairing? What would you like to see more of for your pairing/the fandom in general? Are there any pairings you or types of stories you absolutely won't read?

I kinda have a head-canon that Tony & Bruce are a sort-of platonic couple.. Science buddies... and get up to wacky shenanigans... and the reason Bruce wound up in space, aboard a quin-jet [which is atmospheric only] is because he was trying to use a bit tesseract-y tech to prank Tony.... and things went a bit sideways..

That said... I rather think Hulk probably has thing for Black Widow, or just strong women in general [like a certain Valkyrie]. Really would like to see more of that... she was a fun character and she deserves more screen time. [man, would that be a weird sort of poly relationship though!]

It's rather implied in Thor:Ragnarok that Hulk and Valkyrie had a physical relationship.. although that does rather beggar belief.

Mind, it's also implied in Age of Ultron that Hulk and Nat do at least cuddle... they seem to bring out the gentler side in each other. Hulk seems fond of her, and vice versa..

and of course, JARVIS takes care of everyone..

I think the problem is that Hulk actually comes across as too child-like. This make the idea of sex with him somewhat.. icky..

That said, he displayed more emotional maturity in Ragnarok, just, not adult. More akin to a young boy in the 5-10 year old range...at least in some ways.
