Weekly Post
May. 8th, 2025 12:28 amIt's been a good week. :) I went to a Jo Dee Messina concert on Friday with my boyfriend. It was a fantastic concert and we had a great time. :) The weekend was spent hanging out, doing a bit of shopping, and getting some relaxing in.
I haven't done a lot this week towards my goals, but I have managed to keep up with the daily ones for the most part. I did finally finish the trim on my blanket! I also untangled and rewound two skeins of yarn, which was an exercise in persistence, patience, and frustration. I've definitely learned my lesson for next time though: if I have a "twisted skein," I need to wind it into a ball before using it, rather than simply untwisting and trying to work from the loop. That went about as well as trying to pull the end of an extension cord free, rather than unwrapping it fully. O.o
Coming up, I'm going to do lunch with my good friend, which is always lots of fun. My sister and I are taking our mom out on Mother's Day, though I'm not sure for which meal yet. I'm also going to try to start on the deer for my blanket this weekend so that I can finally finish that project.
I hope you all are doing well. See you next week!

There are two baskets off to the side. One contains fuzzy blankets, a variety of fuzzy and textured pillows, and a collection of stuffed animals while the other contains a variety of art supplies, ranging from colouring pages and blank paper to crayons and coloured pencils, and more besides.

April Monthly Goal Review

Weekly (?) Update
May. 1st, 2025 03:18 pmHello everyone! I'm sorry I missed the last few weeks, but I find I have a hard time catching up if I miss my intended day of Thursday posting. I definitely won't remember everything that's happened in the last three weeks, but April has been a good month, by and large.
Last week was our Easter shutdown at work, so I had Good Friday and the full week after it off. It was a very nice break, with some lovely family gatherings on the weekend and a mostly chill rest of the week. I did manage to find time to hang out with some of my friends during the week, which was extra nice. I also put together the eagle puzzle that my good friend got me last year. :) It was a very nice puzzle and I had fun making it.
On Sunday, my brother-in-law had a WWE themed party for his 30th birthday. There was a bouncy castle and a Royal Rumble style "wrestling" match, which was a lot of fun even though that's not normally my kind of thing.
I haven't done as much reading as I would have liked, probably due to the fact that I am still bingeing fanfiction lolol. Hopefully I will make more time in May, as well as making time again for my fibre projects.
Coming up, I have lunch with my good friend and a concert with my boyfriend tomorrow. Happily, this also means I have the day off of work :D I'm also hoping to use tomorrow to make my goal review post for April, since I had no energy yesterday and probably will not have time today.
I hope you all are doing well and staying safe. :) Have a great weekend everybody!

Colour Bingo
Apr. 28th, 2025 01:11 amEven though I have not managed to work on my old bingo cards yet, the cards for the May Color Fest caught my eye. I made a 3x3 card of my own, although I also intend to attempt the public 3x3 card, since I found it very interesting. If I manage to finish any prompts, I will bold the squares I have filled. :)
black magic | brown bagging | white sale |
pink tide | RAINBOW | paint yourself into a corner |
gray hair wisdom | tickled pink | purple squirrel |
golden opportunity | mellow yellow | roses are red |
pink slip | RAINBOW | purple haze |
bluing | white bread | splash of color |

Weekly Update
Apr. 10th, 2025 08:39 amThis is going to be a quick one, but I still wanted to say hi! This week has been fantastic and I even managed to keep up with most of my daily goals. I went on vacation with my sister and some family and friends for her 30th birthday. We saw a bunch of cool tourist things, went to an excellent hockey game, and saw a superb show at the Grand Ole Oprey.
We are headed to breakfast soon, then travelling back home. If I have time, I will sneak in a quick yoga session today and I will need to make a quick grocery run tomorrow so I have food for work. I've had a really good time, but I'm definitely looking forward to being able to just relax this weekend. XD
Take care everyone, have a great weekend!

Weekly Update
Apr. 3rd, 2025 03:21 pmHi everyone! This week has been pretty good. I've mostly gotten back on track with my goals, although I still read more fanfic than anything else. I won't have much time for goals in the coming week, but I hope to have time to read my book and I'd like to work on my yarn projects later in the month.
Last weekend was a good one. On Friday night I had a chance to hang out with my good friend and my boyfriend. It was a very nice visit, even though I was super tired and not able to focus well. On Saturday, I went for dinner with a group of coworkers, then we made charm bracelets. The bracelets turned out very nice and we were able to customize them as much as we wanted. Later that evening, I got to hang out with a group of my friends which was also a lot of fun. Sunday was a low-key day, involving breakfast with my mom and sister and then chill time afterwards with my bf.
Yesterday, I got my nails done for my sister's birthday next week. They are burgundy and nude and I like them a lot, even though they are much longer than I'm used to. I had lunch with my good friend today, which was delightful as always. This weekend should be pretty relaxed, though I am really looking forward to celebrating my sister's 30th birthday!
I hope you all are doing well! Stay safe, stay healthy, have a great weekend!

March Monthly Goal Review
Apr. 1st, 2025 01:14 amMarch was a very busy month, so I won'tbe surprised if I missed some of my goals. I did get some of my motivation back though, so hopefully the results aren't too bad. For more details, look behind the cut.

Weekly Update
Mar. 27th, 2025 12:57 pmThis week has been a good week. I missed a few weekly goals, but I feel like I've been finding more of my motivation, and I did accomplish some things. I started reading my next book, I did a few yoga practices, I didn't entirely skip the dishes, and I had time to read a lot of a fanfic that I really like and am re-reading for at least the third time.
Over the weekend, I went to a friend's birthday party on Saturday. It was sushi themed and a really good time. :) On Sunday, my boyfriend and I went up to Hamilton for a yarn fair and to see a waterfall. The yarn fair was a lot of fun! It was a lot of small vendors from around the area, with a lot of really fun colours and "fabrics." Most of the yarn was some form of merino/nylon mix, though there was some pure merino, some alpaca, and a few other fibres I believe. Many of the yarns were variegated or brightly coloured, but there was a nice selection of natural colours and a few pastels as well. I bought 16 skeins myself, including pink, bright blue, and some rust coloured yarn. The waterfall was beautiful and it was a nice day for a walk, though a bit chilly. Dinner afterward was a delicious and we still made it home in time to get some reasonable sleep.
I went boxing with some of my coworkers yesterday, which was a lot of fun. It was a little less intense than I expected, but I am still sore today. I will probably join them again the next time they go. :)
Coming up, I get to hang out with my good friend tomorrow after curling, which is always a good time. I have plans to make charms bracelets on Saturday, then a get together with some friends. I also need to get my taxes done soon so I don't forget and blow past the deadline. I want to make progress on my current fibre projects because I'm excited to use my new yarn. A few ideas include a couple t-shirts, a hat and fingerless gloves for my boyfriend, a hat for myself, and possibly a shawl. I also have plans for a lot of the yarn I already have, so I better get cracking. XD

A Very Late February Goal Review
Mar. 25th, 2025 09:42 amThis review is extremely late, but I decided I didn't want to review March and February together, so I'm writing this up. All in all, I think February was a decent month, though I know I missed some of my targets. For a more detailed look, peek behind the cut.

Weekly Update
Mar. 20th, 2025 04:40 pmHello everyone! This week has been pretty decent. I have managed to get a decent amount of things done, although I am learning that if I want to have leisure time before work, I only really have time for 2 to 3 other acivities. Seeing as how I greatly enjoy my leisure time, I am trying to cycle my "extra" activities so that I have time to relax but am still able to accomplish things. Done this week: I went through old records and got rid of what was no longer needed; I did yoga most of the required days; I cooked my lunches and also baked a Gluten-free coffee loaf to share with my friend; I did the dishes, though not as often as I should have; I played 5 songs on my flute; and, I picked most of the outfits I need for my trip to Nashville in a few weeks.
Over the weekend, I had a whole lot of fun doing glow in the dark curling with my good friends and bf and had fun at a local hockey game with my bf the next day. I've never done glow in the dark curling, but our team was a whole lot of fun and the glowing colours were very cool, though they wreaked havock on our depth perception.
Coming up, I have lunch with my good friend tomorrow, a birthday party on Saturday, and an out of town yarn fair on Sunday. I don't really need more yarn but I love all the pretty colours and I am going to shop with a plan this time.
In the next little while, I need to finalize my yarn plan, clean out my car and get an oil change, verify my packing plan for Nashville, and try to actually work on my fiber crafts, which I've been grossly neglecting.
March has been a very busy but fun month, and I'm looking forward to what April has in store. :D I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the very beginning of spring!

Polychrome Heroics Pool
Mar. 18th, 2025 05:52 pmThis week
ysabetwordsmith is having a half price sale in Polychrome Heroics. I will be hosting a pool if anyone would like to join me. By getting together in a pool, we can all take advantage of the quarter-price rate and get more poetry. Anyone joining the pool can name a target, or you can choose to contribute to one of mine.
My main three targets are going to be:
A Sanctuary for the Homeless 310
Shopping for College 639.50
The Philosophy of the Sandwich 430.50
Which ones I go for will depend on how many people join in and how much money ends up in the pool. If you are interested, leave me a comment below, and I will pass on my paypal information to anyone who needs it. I will leave the pool open until the night before the sale closes in order to give me enough time to forward all the funds to Ysabet.
Let's buy some poetry!

Weekly Update
Mar. 13th, 2025 07:19 pmHello! This week has been a mostly good one, although my energy and motivation still seem to be missing in action. I had a wonderful weekend away with my boyfriend; the ropes course was fun, we got some shopping in, we walked around a local pond system, and we had the time to just enjoy each other's company. Today I had lunch with my good friend since I have a hair appointment tomorrow. We had good conversations and good burgers. :)
I haven't yet managed to work on my crochet or knitting projects, but I did read some of my book and I've gotten better at sticking with my yoga practice. I also managed to stay on top of the dishes this week, which is something I've struggled with lately. This coming week, I would like to stick with yoga, read more of my book, and work on at least one of my fiber projects. I also need to practice five more flute songs, since I practiced the first five from my Popular Hits book today.
This weekend, I have a one-day curling tournament with my good friend and my boyfriend, then a local hockey game the next day. Both events should be lots of fun, but I'll have to make sure to leave time for the chores as well.
I hope you all are doing well, have a great weekend everyone!

Weekly Update
Mar. 6th, 2025 07:48 pmI haven't been very good at updating weekly, but I am trying. Two weekends ago, I played in a two-day curling bonspiel with my boyfriend and two of our friends. We finished second last but we had a lot of fun and I'm glad we went. There was good food, good company, and a chance to test our skills against better opponents. Last weekend wasn't very eventful. I spent a lot of it baking with my boyfriend, then just hanging out. It was a rather nice, low-key way to spend our days off.
This weekend, my boyfriend and I have a trip to London planned. There is an indoor amusement park/ropes course we want to try out and some time away from everything will be nice. Tomorrow I'm having lunch with my good friend, which always makes for an extra nice Friday. :) I need to do my February goal review soon but I've been putting it off.
Unfortunately, I have done a lot of procrastinating via reading fanfic in the last two weeks, so I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I would like to. Yoga and fiber crafts are the two items that have suffered the most, so hopefully I can get those back on track soon. My weekends this month will be pretty busy, but there are a lot of fun things planned, so I'm looking forward to it.
I hope you are all doing well and you have a great weekend! Take care. :)

There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.
There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise. There are also two armchairs; one an oversized, deep gray leather chair, the other a square fabric armchair in deep blue with light purple swirls on it (Think this style except not grey).
There are two baskets off to the side. One contains fuzzy blankets, a variety of fuzzy and textured pillows, and a collection of stuffed animals while the other contains a variety of art supplies, ranging from colouring pages and blank paper to crayons and coloured pencils, and more besides.
Happy March! Today we have coffee loaf, ice cream bread, bacon fat chocolate chip cookies, fruit salad, and pancakes today.

Weekly Update
Feb. 20th, 2025 07:25 pmSadly, I missed last week's post, but I am back now. Both weeks have been pretty standard, thiugh I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I would have liked. I've read a whole bunch of fanfic and I practised 10 flute songs, but I missed multiple days of yoga, I haven't read any of my book, and I have not managed to work on either of my yarn projects yet.
Last weekend, I had lunch with my good friend on Friday, which was very nice. On Saturday, my boyfriend and I attended a paint afternoon hosted by my work and we ended up with some very nice paintings to take home. We went to dinner after that, then spent Sunday just hanging out.
Coming up, I have lunch with my good friend tomorrow and a curling bonspiel on Saturday. I'm hoping to keep up with any snow that may fall and to do a better job of my daily goals. I would also really like to read some of my book and work on the blanket and my shawl.
I don't have any other major plans coming up, so I'm hopeful that I can make some progress on the small things. I hope you all are doing well and have a great weekend!
