Over in
allbingo,
ysabetwordsmith posted some activities for Three Weeks for Dreamwidth. I'm not sure what my energy will be like, so I will probably end up doing the activities in batches as they catch my attention.
Week 1: Community Questionnaire
Here is a mini-questionnaire that you can use, one day at a time or all at once:
How long have you belonged to this community? What attracted you to it? How often do you play?I have belonged to
allbingo for almost two years now. After watching the results of the fests for awhile, the idea intrigued me enough to see if it would also help spark my creativity, and maybe give me a chance to practice my writing. I play about 2 to 4 times a year. It really depends on what themes catch my eye and what my time/energy levels happening to be like that month.
What do you like best about creative bingo? Do you feel that it helps you as a creative person? What I like best is having a starting point. I'm not always good at thinking up ideas from scratch, so having prompts can really help me get past that dreaded blank page. I have found that the bingo fests do help me as a creative person, because they get me thinking outside the box, and the really attractive themes seem to grab me and almost write the prompts for me. Coming as someone who did more consuming of creations than making my own, this has really helped me find a way to express myself when I feel the urge.
What are some of your favorite bingo themes? Are those single events, recurring, or a mix of both? Some of my favourite bingo themes are "Fresh Starts" bingo, the Valentine's fest, "Hot Summer Writes," and the NCIS bingo fest. I have a mix of both, though more single events than recurring ones.
Do you participate in other bingo communities? If so, what are some of your favorites?
allbingo is currently the only bingo community I participate in.
Do you typically create fills in the same format or fandom, or spread them out over different kinds? What will readers find in your work? Most of my fills have been either freeform or short form poetry, though there have been a few fiction stories. Most of my work is original, but there are a few fanfics in there. In my work, readers will find a variety of poems, some from my personal experience, some just my view on the world. I try to handle all topics respectfully and to add creativity and uniqueness to my work.
Have you ever made blackout (filled all the prompts on a card)? If so, how many times?I have! I believe it has only been twice so far, but possibly three times, and I do usually strive to get a blackout, though it doesn't always work.
Have you ever hosted a bingo fest here? If so, what was your favorite theme(s)? If not, what themes might you fantasize about hosting?I have hosted one fest here, and plan to host a second one in just a few days. As I really only have one theme to choose from, I'm going to go ahead and say the NCIS one was my favourite. However, I have learned some things from putting together May's bingo fest, so I'm happy about that. :)

Use the Bingo Card Generator to make prompt of the day during Three Weeks for Dreamwidth. Create a fill and post it only to Dreamwidth (at least during this event). This one sounds intriguing but I don't think I will have enough spoons for it and all my other activities, so I'm going to give this one a pass.
Browse the posts in
allbingo and comment on them. Let hosts know you appreciate their bingo theme, and creators know that you liked their fills.Check out the community calendar for 2022. There are still a few empty slots, or months where there is a recurring theme and could add a new theme. If you've been thinking about hosting a fest, now is a good time to volunteer.I'm ahead on this one! I will be hosting a Mixed Quotes fest in May. :) I don't have the energy to pick up another month at this time, but I am curious to see what other people come up with.
